While the Sunder and Black Knight may both be considered significant entries into their respective weight classes, the Uller is the expansion mech that most threatens to dominate its weight class. Light mechs generally function best where speed is critical, such as flag runners in CTF matches. The previous fastest light mech, the Inner Sphere Osiris, is thoroughly outclassed by the Uller. The expansion mech equals or betters the Osiris in all categories. It doesn't have the Osiris' option for Light Amplification, but it adds ECM, which is generally preferable. The smaller profile of the Osiris arguably makes it more difficult to hit, its only obvious advantage.

The Raven, the heavier of the two light mechs included in the original game, held as a slim claim to fame as the only light mech to possess both ECM and BAP. The Uller matches it in one category, and thoroughly outclasses the Raven in speed and firepower. By virtue of its heavier weight, the Raven can at least pack more armor than the Uller.

The Clan Cougar was the undisputed combat champion of MW4's three light mechs, and while it is five tons heavier than the Uller, it does not have a clear cut edge in combat. The Cougar possesses the ability to pack more armor, by virtue of its weight. It also has 10 weapons slots to eight for the Uller, but this is not a definitive victory for the Cougar, as the Uller possesses four omni slots to the Cougar's two, and running out of slots on a light mech is usually not the biggest problem.
